So our brand spanking new YUMIDIRECT.CO.UK website has been launched!! Not only do we have a slick new layout and amazing new zoom(!!) but the new site is showcasing our new Autumn/Winter collection. Our Yumi brand continues really strongly with it’s vintage inspired pieces and our original Uttam brand has had a make-over! It is now the UTTAM BOUTIQUE and we are so proud of the gorgeous elegant pieces that make up the collection. We’ve been tempting you with our trendboards for the past few weeks and now you can actually buy them!!
We thought we would share with you our picks of the collections so far, first up from Yumi, the faux-fur coat is still a highly covetable item and we want to stand out from the masses by wearing this purple version, we love it:

A key trend for Uttam Boutique this season is Film Noir; another look back into vintage past and taking inspiration from silhouettes and prints from the Film Noir era. Quirky touches play against a sombre palette to stunning effects; washed out, embellished and deconstructed and worked into velvet lace and draped jerseys for a contemporary gothic tale. The 1920’s and 30’s provide the foundation of creativity for Vintage Glamour: combing contemporary fabrics, finishes and styling to these decadent designs offer panache and decadence through modern flapper shapes and vintage style detailing. Re-interpreted and re-worked scale and proportion create a truly modern take on this stylish era for a new generation. The colour palette is key to this trend; deep, rich tones flatter and accentuate. Vintage is so popular right now and it’s no wonder; going back to a bygone era reminds us of a simpler time; but this collection definitely isn’t simple and basic. Embellishments still reins supreme as has always done at Uttam, with a new emphasis on style, glamour, and trends. Our must have key item from this trend is:
The Winnie drop-waist dress! Dip dying is a great little mini trend this season, it’s really flattering and the corsage detail on this gives the waist a little extra detail. An asymmetric hem and ruffle sleeves bring femininity to this great little dress.

Coats are of course a prerequisite to the AW season every year; you can either choose to hide away under a big ugly duvet-looking thing or choose to keep warm in style! This season, Yumi coats get a subtle hint of military and tailoring, with double breasted buttons and zip detailing offering a tough edge, juxtaposed with feminine shoulder details and bows. This truly is the season of contrast, as coats appear in darks and brights as well as vanilla and snowy tones. Our favourite is definitely the Gloria coat:
